La-Z-Boy is the company that created the first recliner in 1928. Since then, it has expanded its line of products to include armchairs, couches, lounge chairs, sleepers, sectionals and other products. According to its website, the company prides itself on comfort and quality. If you have a La-Z-Boy leather couch, you might be reluctant to wash it for fear of ruining the leather. Luckily, you can remove caked-on dirt and grease without compromising the integrity of the material.
Things You'll Need
- Vacuum cleaner
- Feather duster
- 2 soft, lint-free cloths
- Distilled water
- Mild detergent
Run a vacuum cleaner over the entire surface of the couch, removing any dust and pet or human hairs. Dust it vigorously with a feather duster.
Create a solution of 1 part mild detergent and 1 part distilled water. Mix them with your hands, creating a soft foam. Dip a soft, lint-free cloth in the foam and lightly run it across the exterior of the couch. Do not rub the leather.
Dampen slightly a soft, lint-free cloth with distilled water. Wipe the surface of the couch with this cloth, lightly running it over the surface. Do not rub the leather.
Blot the leather dry with a soft, lint-free cloth, soaking up all the moisture from the couch.
