Attaching Velcro to Clothing by Stitching
Cut the Velcro into strips, based on the piece of clothing you want to attach it to. Usually Velcro comes in a roll, so you will have to decide how much you want and cut to your specifications.
Position the Velcro on the piece of clothing. Make sure that both pieces of Velcro are aligned so they will come together perfectly when using the piece of clothing.
Mark the spots where you are going to stitch the Velcro. Use a pen to mark the particular areas.
Thread your needle. Usually Velcro comes in black, so use black thread. You can use a standard needle to attach the Velcro. You can get needle and thread from a fabric store.
Stitch the Velcro onto the clothing. When you are finished stitching the Velcro, make a knot at the end of the stitch and cut the remainder of the thread with a scissors.
Attaching Velcro to Clothing by Adhesive
Buy the Velcro with adhesive. This type has a glue-like substance on the back of the Velcro. It comes in a roll. You can purchase this type of Velcro at a fabric store or an arts and crafts store.
