Laundry detergent and fabric softener products come in a wonderful array of fragrances. From woodsy to floral, there are fresh scents to "tickle the noses" of every shopper. Today’s laundry product manufacturers strive to create the long-lasting fragrances that adhere to fabrics like their consumers want. Some laundry and fabric softener products have scents intended to last for weeks. Unfortunately, all scents must fade eventually but you can prolong the fragrance in laundry products.

Video of the Day
Wash your clothing and linens. Use a scented laundry detergent in the washing machine.
Dry the clothes in the dryer with a fabric softener sheet. You should use the same scent that you use for the laundry detergent to reinforce the aroma. Many laundry product companies make detergents and fabric softeners in the same fragrances for this purpose.
Place fabric softener sheets, with the same scent, into dresser drawers and on the shelves of linen closets. You can also put a fresh fabric softener sheet in the same scent within the fold of each clean towel, pillowcase, and sheet in your linen closet. If you use the same scent for all of your clean laundry and laundry storage, you constantly surround the fabric items with the identical perfume, allowing the fabric fibers to absorb the scent.
Stick a hanger hook through a fabric sheet. Hang the hanger in your clothes closet. Change the fabric softener sheet every week to refresh the scent but don’t throw the old fabric softener sheet away. You can put it back into the fabric softener package because it can still be used to soften laundry and reduce static electricity in the clothes dryer.
Spray your rooms or your towels and bedding, using a spray scented with the same fragrance you used for your laundry. If you use a common scent, like lavender, it is easy to coordinate your laundry detergents, fabric softener sheets, deodorizing sprays, and even bath soaps in the same scent. By surrounding yourself and your household items with the same scent, the absorption of that scent will make the aroma last longer.
