Video of the Day

Step 1

Cut a piece of 8 1/2-by-11-inch white card stock in half to make two 8 1/2-by-5 1/2-inch pieces of card stock. Fold these in half to create 4 1/4-by-5 1/2-inch cards.

Have kids load their thumb with ink by pressing it onto the brown ink pad, and then press their thumb onto the front of the card to create the body of the turkey.

  • Keep some wet wipes handy to wipe off little fingers in between colors. If you don't have any wet wipes available, a bowl of water and some paper towels will work just as well.

Step 2

To create the first row of feathers, have kids press their index finger onto the rust colored ink pad and then press it onto the card, slightly touching the brown turkey body. Continue to create feathers with fingerprints until they've created a fan shape above the turkey body. The feathers will be brighter and more distinct if they press the index finger onto the ink pad before creating each feather.

Step 3

Now repeat the process with the orange ink to create the next row of feathers above the rust colored feathers.

Step 4

Repeat the process one more time to create a yellow row of feathers above the orange feathers.

Step 5

Use white glue to attach a small yellow bead in the center of the brown thumbprint for the turkey beak.

Step 6

Again using white glue, attach two small white beads on the brown thumbprint for the turkey eyes. Use an orange marker to draw in the legs and feet underneath the turkey.
