Remove Candle Wax From a Coffee Table Tutorial

Candle wax spills can be pretty scary, especially if it occurs on your furniture. If candle wax happens to spill on your coffee table (or other surfaces), no worries! There is an easy way to remove wax without ruining them. You just need a couple items that you already have in your home to clean it up.

Things You'll Need

  • Iron

  • Washcloth

  • Paper towels

Warning

Do not try to wipe up or clean up candle wax while it is still melted or hot. It will only make the mess bigger, and you could burn yourself in the process.

Step 1: Turn your iron on a low setting and let it heat up.

Be sure to turn the steam setting off before using.

Step 2: Place a clean washcloth over the spilled wax.

Step 3: Place the warm iron over the washcloth and hold in place for 30 seconds.

Step 4: Repeat until all of the wax has soaked into the washcloth.

Once all of the wax has soaked into the washcloth, remove and discard the cloth.

Step 5: Wipe any wax residue away with a paper towel.
