  • Safety pins

Make your own toga for your next toga party.

Making a toga is very easy. There is no reason to go to a toga party without one. Use about 5 yards of fabric and stay away from bed sheets to make the perfect classic Roman costume. Get any fabric you like to make some amazing toga designs that will impress everyone and make you the envy of the party.

Step 1

Pin one end of your fabric to the waistband of your pants or shorts.

Step 2

Wrap the fabric around your waist once. If you are on the shorter side, you may need to wrap it twice. The toga should hang to about your knees.

Step 3

Pin the toga at your waist again and throw the remaining fabric over your shoulder.

Step 4

Wrap the fabric around your back and pin it at the waist a third time.

Step 5

Accessorize your costume to give it your own unique flair. Popular items to complete the look include belts, swords and jewelry. Women can drape a fine chain around the waist to dress up the costume. Men may want to carry a sword or shield.
