Here is a clever idea for a Halloween costume that uses ordinary household items. It's a great way to recycle items lying around the house. If you need a costume at the very last minute, this is your solution. Maybe you're redecorating a bathroom and are just going to throw out that old shower curtain and rod. Don't do it. You can put them to good use instead. Create a really unique costume that the kids will love with an old shower curtain.

Step 1

Step 2

Cover the funnel and top half of the curtain rod with foil. This creates the shower head.

Step 3

Tape the tinsel to the inside of the funnel to create the water running out.

Step 4

Attach the shower curtain to the hula hoop using the shower curtain rings.

Step 5

Tie each piece of the rope into shoulder straps, attaching it to the hula hoop.

Step 6

Cut the bottom of the shower curtain to the top of your feet so you don't trip.

Step 7

Put on flip flops, shower cap and hold the curtain rod so the shower head is above your head. Your costume is all done!

Tip

Glue a small rubber ducky on top of the hula hoop for a quirky additional touch. Use a mesh shower bag for your trick-or-treating bag.

Warning

Parents should accompany younger children wearing this costume as it could obstruct their view.
