If you have a microwave rice cooker, don't be afraid to use it for cooking brown rice. Step 3

Pour 4 cups of liquid into the basket, and stir it with the rice. The liquid can be water or beef, vegetable or chicken broth.

Step 4

Put the lid on the microwave rice cooker, and tighten the cover by securing the clips. Put the cooker into the microwave. Cook the brown rice for 14 minutes, and don't remove the lid until the end of the cooking time.

Step 5

Check the brown rice to see if it is ready to serve. If it's still a bit firm, put the lid back on, and cook it for an additional 2 to 4 minutes. If necessary, add a bit more liquid. This recipe makes enough brown rice to serve four people.
