How to Cook a Roast in a Roaster Oven

Things You'll Need

  • Roaster oven

  • 2 to 3 lb chuck roast

  • 4 medium carrots, cut into 3-inch chunks

  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into 2-inch chunks

  • 2 onions, cut in wedges

  • Salt and pepper to taste

A well-cooked roast is something that I've tried to master most of my adult life. Along came my roaster oven, and now a perfect roast couldn't be easier. The roaster oven cooks consistently every time, and so easily! Follow along to start creating your own perfect roasts.

Perfect Pot Roast

Step 1

Place rack in roaster oven. Preheat roaster oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2

Lightly spray roaster oven and rack with cooking spray. Arrange meat and vegetables on rack. Sprinkle roast and vegetables with salt and pepper.

Step 3

Cover roaster oven and roast contents for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 300 degrees. Roast for an additional 45 to 60 minutes.

Step 4

Remove roast and vegetables to serving platter. Let roast rest for 10 minutes before carving.

Tip

Use a meat thermometer for more accurate roasting. Preheating is recommended.

Warning

Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs. Unplug roaster oven from outlet when not in use.
