Video of the Day
Panda Bear Top
Measure the black sweatshirt from the armpit to the bottom of the shirt. Record this measurement. Measure the front of the shirt from side seam to side seam. Multiply this number by 2, and record it. Use these numbers to create a pattern. The first number is the height. The second number is the length. Draw the rectangular pattern onto poster board and then cut it out.
Turn the white faux fur so that the backing is facing upwards. Lay the pattern over the fabric. Pin it in place. Draw an outline of the pattern onto the backing with a black marker. Remove the pattern.
Lift the fabric. Use the tips of your scissors to cut through the backing. Be careful not to cut the fur.
Center the faux fur over the sweatshirt beneath the armpits, so that the end pieces meet in the back of the shirt. The sweatshirt should be right-side out. Pin the fur in place. Sew the fur onto the sweatshirt.
Measure the length of the headband. Multiply that number by 3. Cut the white grosgrain ribbon. Hot glue one end of the ribbon to the end of the headband. Put a line of hot glue across the top of the headband. Wrap the ribbon around the head band. Glue the end piece of ribbon down.
Create the panda ear pattern. Draw two circles with a 4-inch diameter onto a piece of card stock. Cut the pattern out.
Lay the patterns over the back side of the black faux fur. Trace the patterns so that you have four circles. Cut the circles out, careful not to cut the fur.
Place the fur sides together, and stitch around the edges. Leave a 2-inch opening. Turn the ears right-side out so that the fur is showing. Stitch the opening closed. Hot glue the ears to each side of the ribbon-wrapped headband.
Panda Face Paint
Paint a large oval around each eye. Cover the eyebrows and the eye sockets.
Paint your face white, being careful not to get the white on the black panda eyes.
Paint the bridge of your nose black. Paint a straight line connecting the bottom of your nose to the center of your top lip.
Paint your lips black. Draw a short curved smile line on both sides of the mouth.
