  • Teacup and saucer
  • Pinch bail pendants, 3
  • Wire cutters
  • Polyurethane glue
  • Heavy book
  • 1-foot chains, 3
  • S-hook, 1
  • Pliers

Step 1

Glue the pinch bails to the saucer.

Remove the pinch clip pins from the pinch bail pendants using the wire cutters. Use a small dab of glue on the inside of the bail's pinch clip and slide each one onto the edge of the saucer in an evenly-spaced triangle. Be sure to follow the glue's preparation and drying directions before proceeding.

Step 2

Glue the teacup to the saucer.

Glue the teacup to the center of the saucer by placing a thin line of glue around the bottom of the teacup. Have a wet paper towel or napkin ready to clean any excess glue. Rest a heavy book on top of the cup for weight while the glue dries. Allow the glue to dry completely.

Step 3

Attach the chains to the bails.

Attach one end of each chain to the bails on the saucer. You might need to use the pliers to open the chain ends slightly wide enough to insert the bails. Close the chain ends once they are securely placed on the bails.

Step 4

Secure the chains to the S-hook.

Slide all three chain ends onto the S-hook. Secure the free end of the S-hook to a sturdy tree branch or hanging post.

Step 5

Tips & Warnings

  • Use a toothpick to smear the glue onto the inside of the bail's clip.
  • Do not use more glue than necessary. The glue will expand as it dries.
  • Use caution while using wire cutters.
