Tattoos are meant to last forever, so it can be difficult to remove the ink, leaving no traces. There are professional removal processes, but these can be expensive and painful. At-home, natural tattoo removal is often the safest and most cost-effective way to get rid of a tattoo. The following process can at least help your tattoo fade, and when it is light enough, you can use concealer to cover it or have an artist cover it with another, better tattoo.

Step 1

Take a close-up picture of your tattoo in good lighting. You'll need a picture to compare later in the process so you can see if the technique is working.

Mix together equal parts aloe vera gel and vitamin E oil. Using a Q-tip, apply the mixture to your tattoo in circular motions. Once it has soaked in for three to five minutes, wash the area with cold water.

Make a paste with equal parts yogurt and turmeric powder. Apply this mixture to the tattoo and allow it to dry for at least 10 minutes before using a washcloth and warm water to wash the area.

Step 4

Repeat this process for three to four weeks. The best time to do the process if after you shower so that your pores are open and your skin is warm.

Compare the picture you took at the beginning to your tattoo after four weeks. If you aren't seeing any facing at all, you may want to explore laser, surgical or dermabrasion options.
