Just like human feet, canine paws can get chilly in the winter. If you can crochet, helping your friend can be very easy. By repeating some basic crochet stitches, you can quickly create booties for your dog's paws. Warm your pooch's feet with some handmade crochet socks and show him how much you care.

Step 1

Chain three, then in the second chain from the hook stitch six single crochet stitches. Join in a circle. Chain one. Complete round two by stitching two single crochet stitches in each stitch around. Chain one.

Complete round three by stitching two single crochet stitches in the first stitch, then stitch one single crochet stitch. Repeat, then join and chain one. Complete rounds four through eight by stitching a half double crochet stitch in each stitch. Join and chain two.

Step 3

Complete round nine by repeating the pattern of stitching one half double crochet stitch, chain one, skip the next stitch, then repeat. Join at the end of the round and chain two.

Step 4

Complete rounds 10 and 11 by half double crochet stitching in each stitch, then join and chain two. Repeat the same pattern for round 12, but do not chain two. Bind off.

Step 5

Cut four eight-inch ribbons and lace them through the top of the bootie.

Step 6

Repeat Steps 1 to 5 three more times to make booties for all four of your dog's paws.
