Rags
Household lubricating spray

Continuous opening and closing of a sliding door can make the track dry and lead to squeaking. Dirt and grime trapped in the track can keep the door from sliding properly and also make it squeak. However, it doesn't take long to get your sliding door moving freely, which will in turn eliminate the noise.
Step 1
Fill a bucket with 1 gallon of warm water. Add a squirt of dishwashing liquid and 1 cup of distilled white vinegar. Mix the ingredients well.

Step 2
Open the door completely so you can see the entire track. Use a vacuum cleaner attachment hose to suck up loose dirt and debris in the track. Close the door and vacuum the other side of the track.
Step 3
Scrub the entire track with a rag and the cleaning solution. Use an old toothbrush to scrub in the crevices and hard to reach areas. Clean both sides of the track with the cleaning solution.
Step 4
Wipe down the track with a dry rag to remove any residue.
Step 5
Spray the entire track with a generous coating of household lubricating spray. Wipe the track with a clean, dry rag to spread out the lubricant.
