You can poke holes into a plastic bottle to use it as a bird feeder.

If you are creating different crafts out of recycling materials, such as plastic bottles, it can be difficult to alter the materials in the particular way you are requiring. For example, if you want to create a bird house out of a plastic 2 liter soda bottle, you will need to poke holes into the plastic bottle. One way to effectively poke holes out of the bottle is to use a wood burning tool.

Step 2

Put on a face mask to prevent yourself from breathing in toxic fumes as you work.

Step 3

Place a plastic bottle onto a flat surface, and angle the bottle so that you can see and access the area where you want to cut the hole.

Step 4

Press the hot tip of the wood burning tool onto the plastic bottle, and move the tool around into a circle. The wood burning tool will cut through the plastic bottle, effectively cutting out a hole.

Step 5

Repeat this process to cut out as many holes as you need for your craft project.
