Things You'll Need

  • Broom

  • Bucket

  • Mop

  • Towel

  • Hoover FloorMate SpinScrub

Concentrated Old English ia used with or without the Hoover FloorMate.

Although Old English has a reputation for producing quality wood-care products, it does not manufacture many floor cleaners. Old English Wood Floor Cleaning Concentrate is one of the few Old English floor cleaners on the market. This product is designed to be used with Hoover's FloorMate SpinScrub hard-surface cleaner. The Hoover FloorMate dilutes the concentrate with water and applies it to the floor. If you do not have a Hoover FloorMate, however, you can still achieve the same clean with a regular mop and bucket.

Step 3

Plug in the FloorMate. Step on the handle-release pedal (located on the rear right of the base) to lower the handle into a comfortable position. Push the "On/Off" switch (located on the left face of the machine just below the clean solution tank) up to start the Hoover FloorMate. Depress the wet/dry pedal (the large button on the right of the machine just below the recovery tank) to start dispensing the solution. The wet indicator light will glow red when the FloorMate is dispensing solution. Push the brush-control switch (on the front of the handle) all the way down to activate the scrubbers. Push the FloorMate over a 3-square-foot section of the floor to clean it.

Step 4

Flip the brush-control switch up to the wet/dry pickup position. Push the FloorMate over the floor again to pick up the waste solution and loosened debris in the area you just cleaned.

Step 5

Repeat steps three and four until all of the floor is cleaned. Then turn the FloorMate off by flipping the "On/Off switch" down. Remove both the clean solution tank and the recovery tank one at a time by pressing the release buttons in the top center of the tanks. Pour the solution out into the sink and replace the tanks.
