Brita's Smart Pitchers are capable of filtering your water with every pour. At the top of the units are electric indicator lights in red, yellow and green that tell you when the filter should be changed. It takes a series of steps to get the lights working properly, but once configured, the device will do all the work.

Step 2

Release the "Start" button, and a small dot should flash in the lower right corner.

Step 3

Obtain a new filter when the bars disappear.

Step 4

Clean the lid, pitcher and reservoir with detergent. Change the filter by soaking it in water for 15 minutes, then insert the cartridge into the corresponding hole in the top of the filter reservoir. Fill the pitcher twice and discard the water before beginning to serve with the third full pitcher.

Step 5

Repeat Steps 1 through 4 after every filter change.
