Rubber bands have entertained and delighted people since their invention. There's something fascinating about these small, stretchy little items. Learn some of the many interesting things you can do and make from rubber bands, and then impress your friends with your newfound talents. Using rubber bands to make items is not just economical fun, but you can challenge yourself to see what new creations you can think up. The possibilities are endless! To start, make a long rubber band chain, and then go on to create a necklace from rubber bands, or a belt, or even a jump rope! What else can you think of to create?


Step 1

Place two rubber bands end to end.

Step 2

Lay one rubber band slightly over the end of the other so that they overlap.

Step 3

Grasp the rubber band that is underneath and pull the overlapped end through the rubber band above.


Step 4

Continue pulling the bottom rubber band through its own loop.

Step 5

Tighten the link.

Step 6

Repeat Steps 1 through 4, creating more chains until the rubber band chain is as long as you desire.


Step 7

Tie the ends in a secure knot if you want your chain to form a loop. If you want your rubber band chain to be simply a length of rubber bands, leave it untied.
