Wear a fake beard and suspenders to complete your gnome costume.

Gnomes are tiny, bearded mythical creatures found in fairy tales but, if you keep your eyes open, you will also find them hiding in people's gardens as decorations. If you've ever seen a garden gnome sitting in someone's garden, you may have noticed that they all seem to be wearing tall, cone shaped hats. Making your very own gnome hat is very simple; all the supplies for this craft can be found lying around the house.

Step 1

Lay your sheet of construction paper on a flat work surface and use a compass to draw a large half circle against the bottom edge of the paper. If you have a large head, make the radius of your half circle 11 inches. If you have a smaller head, you only need to make the radius of your half circle 8 inches.

Step 2

Cut out the half circle. Lift up the paper and place the flat edge of your half circle against the table.

Step 3

Bring the edges of the circle together, allowing one edge to overlap on top of the other. Push the two sides together to form a cone shape; the flat table will help even out the bottom of your cone shaped hat.

Step 4

Staple your hat at the point where the paper overlaps. Put on your hat and use it to help create a gnome costume.
