Things You'll Need

  • 1 box white cake mix

  • 2 boxes pistachio pudding mix

  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil

  • 1/8 cup water

  • 4 eggs

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 3 Tbsp. milk

  • 1 tsp. almond extract

  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

  • 1/2 cup chopped pistachios

1. Mix bread ingredients

Mix together cake mix, pudding mix, oil, water, eggs and sour cream in a large mixing bowl.

2. Prepare bread pan

Lightly grease the bread pan, pour in 1/4 cup sugar and shake the pan until the grease is coated with sugar.

3. Bake bread

Fill the bread pan halfway with the batter and smooth with a spoon. Bake the bread at 350 degrees for 45 minutes (or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center of the bread).

4. Mix glaze

While the bread cools, use a whisk to mix the milk, the almond and vanilla extract and the powdered sugar in a small bowl.

5. Remove pistachio shells and chop

Crack the shells and remove the pistachio nuts.

For greener pistachios, remove the hulls by blanching the nuts in boiling water for a few seconds. Drain and then rub the pistachios in a towel and the hulls will fall right off.

6. Drizzle glaze and sprinkle chopped pistachios
