Things You'll Need:
- Rope
- Ribbon
- Cord
- Flat surface
- Two hands
-
Step 1
Loop your ribbon. Take your rope, ribbon or cord and bend it in half so that you have two parallel sides of equal length. The bend should be at the top of your flat surface and the two loose ends pointing down.
-
Step 2
Cross your ribbon. Take the left side and lay it over the top of the right side.
-
Step 3
Weave the ribbon through the loops. Now place the left piece - the one under the top piece - up and then across to the right side. The end should now be pointing to right.
-
Step 4
Weave the opposite end. Take the remaining loose end - the one still facing down - and pull it under and through the loop. Next, pull it over the top cross piece and under the left side.
-
Step 5
Secure your loops. Take the right end and pull it loosely down and through the right loop. The end should go under and then over when passing through the loop. Repeat with the left end, pulling it down and through the left loop. However, this time the end should go over and under when passing through the loop. Voila, now you have your box knot!
