Cooking a large, 9-lbs. pork roast can be a daunting task for anyone. Preparing this main course takes a decent amount of time but will provide a wonderful family dinner that everyone can enjoy. You can choose to put it in a slow cooker or use your oven. The roast can also be marinated or rubbed with a seasoning mix. These options are up to your preference, but no matter what you choose, a home-cooked pork roast will be a delight to family and friends.

- 2 cloves of miced garlic
- 4 tsp. of dried marjoram
- 1 tsp. of salt
- 2 tbsp. of sage
- 1/2 chopped and seeded bell pepper

- Large roasting pan
- 2 cups of beef broth

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Unwrap the pork roast, rinse it in cool water, and pat dry. Make 1-inch-deep slits around the entire surface of the roast about 2 inches apart.
Combine all of the dry spice ingredients in a small bowl. Rub the prepared roast with the mixture and place it in a roasting pan. Place a meat thermometer into the roast to check the internal temperature while cooking. Pour the 2 cups of beef broth into the bottom of the roasting pan to baste the meat throughout cooking.
Cook the roast in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes per lbs., or for about three hours. Baste the meat with the beef broth regularly throughout cooking, about every 20 minutes. Around the two-hour mark, begin checking the meat thermometer for temperature. You want to make sure that the internal temperature of the pork roast reaches at least 160 degrees, the USDA recommended temperature for cooked pork.
