Cotton balls can be transformed into beads using craft materials.

Children enjoy stringing beads to make craft necklaces or bracelets. But if you're short on beads, make your own using household materials such as cotton balls and toothpicks. By combining the materials in a specific way, you can transform a fluffy white cotton ball into a glitter bead that can be used for your child's craft jewelry projects.

Step 2

Cover the entire cotton ball with glitter glue gel.

Step 3

Wet your hands well, then pick up the coated cotton ball. The water will prevent the glitter glue from sticking to your hands.

Step 4

Roll the coated ball around between your wet palms, which will cause the cotton ball to compress and to become saturated with the glue.

Step 5

Insert a wet toothpick into the compressed cotton ball, and allow it to remain there for three minutes.

Step 6

Take out the toothpick, and allow the cotton ball bead to dry completely. Repeat this process until you have as many beads as you require for your project.
