Master Lock is a popular manufacturer of combination locks that are opened using a turnable dial and a pre-selected numeral code. Combination locks are typically found on school lockers, bicycle chains and personal safes. If you have never used a combination lock before and you do not have the lock's instructions handy, figuring out which direction to turn the dial and enter the code can be a bit confusing. With a little directional help, you'll have your lock open in no time.
Hold the lock so the shackle is facing up.
Rotate the dial three turns to the right to the first number of the code. The number should line up with the notched arrow at the top of the lock.
Turn the dial to the left past the first number of the code to the second number.
Rotate the dial to the right to the last number of the code.
Lift up on the shackle to open the lock.
