Many craft projects keep recycling the same materials over and over again. Sure, you can come up with a lot of projects involving paper plates and yarn, but where's the fun in that? If you're looking for new materials, try magnets and metal. Magnets are easy find, and their magnetic properties open all types of possibilities. Create your own refrigerator magnets or combine multiple metal crafts with magnets. All you need to know is which glue to use and a few tricks of preparation.
Step 1
Clean the surface of the magnet and the metal with a clean rag and warm water. The slightest presence of dirt or oils from your fingers can compromise the adhesive abilities of the glue.

Step 2
Use the tip of a nail or screw to scratch the surface of the metal and the side of the magnet that will be glued. A rough surface is a key part in creating a strong hold between the metal and the magnet.
Step 3
Apply epoxy glue to the scratched side of the magnet.
Step 4
Press the magnet against the metal piece and hold it in place for at least a minute. This will ensure the bond is strong enough to keep the magnet in place.
Step 5
Let the glue completely dry--this make take a few minutes. The magnet should be successfully glued to the metal once the glue has completely dried.
Tip
Epoxy glues are the best glues to use for magnets and metals, but there are several others you can use. Super Glue and silicone adhesives are also used.
