Wheat germ is the embryo of a kernel of wheat. It's a good source of vitamin E and folic acid, and also contains protein, potassium, iron, magnesium and several other nutrients. Wheat germ can be eaten raw and sprinkled on foods, or baked and cooked with other foods. Wheat germ cereal is a healthy way to start the day. It can easily be cooked in the top of a double boiler.
