How to Decorate a Spiral Ham

Because a spiral ham comes pre-cooked and sliced, many people just plop the hunk of meat onto a plate and serve. For your next holiday dinner, try dressing your spiral ham up before serving it. You can easily turn a simple plate into a fancy serving dish with just a few edible items. Choosing items that very in color and texture will add interesting dimensions and beauty to your spiral ham.

Things You'll Need

  • Fresh Parsley

  • Cloves

  • Decorative Plate

  • 3 Pineapple Slices

  • Assortment Of Small Vegetables

Step 1

Place a circle of cloves around each pineapple slices, half way between the rim and the center of the slice.

Step 2

Place your spiral ham in the center of a decorative plate or platter that matches the holiday or special occasion.

Step 3

Add the fresh parsley along the edges of the plate. Stick the ends of the parsley under the ham so that the leaves are facing out. Go around the entire plate, building a little "nest".

Step 4

Add your assortment of vegetables around the ham (on top of the parsley). Choose vegetables with bright colors. Carrots, radishes, baby corn and cherry tomatoes are all good choices.

Step 5

Fan out a few slices of ham.

Step 6

Lay your 3 pineapple slices on the top or your ham (starting with the area immediately after the fanned pieces) and serve.
