  • Essential oil

  • Food coloring (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon of salt

  • Clear packaging tape

Making your own gel air freshener for the car is a fun, easy and money-saving project. While most gel air fresheners have a very strong, artificial scent, you customize your homemade gel air freshener to the exact color and scent you want. You can even color your gel air freshener. The easiest way to prepare a gel air freshener to ride in your car is to pour it into a petri dish and allow it to settle. You can find petri dishes or similar items in any craft store.
