Dove changed its reputation when it developed an advertising campaign to incorporate "real women" in its print ads. The ads feature women of various shapes and sizes stripped down to their underwear to show their healthy and glowing skin. The campaigns have received quite a bit of positive publicity as the ads have showed that beauty comes in different sizes. Women who want to become a Dove model should start by getting some experience in the modeling world.
Step 1
Get an agent by calling around to local agencies in your area or by attending an open call held several times a year by modeling agencies. An agent will help you gain the experience you need and offer helpful tips on getting started as a Dove model.

Step 2
Build up your portfolio. Every time you step in front of the camera and get pictures taken, you're getting the experience you need to work as a model. You'll also show Dove that you've worked with photographers before and know how to handle yourself on a shooting set.
Step 3
Take part in one of the Dove Self-Esteem Workshops as part of their Campaign for Real Beauty. These events are held in cities across the United States every year. Women who participate learn more about the campaign, work on improving their self-esteem and may even be picked for one of the photo shoots.
Step 4
Go to the cities where Dove hosts other events. Dove holds a variety of events throughout the year and sends talent representatives to those events. The reps are looking for women who look as great on camera as they do in real life, but they're also looking for everyday, regular women.
Step 5
Send your portfolio to Dove, or ask your agent to send it. If you really want to be a Dove model and you think you have what it takes, try contacting the company directly. Let them know why you want to work for them and show them that you're an everyday, normal woman.
Tip
Sometimes it just comes down to being in the right place at the right time. Dove often picks models that its talent representatives find out and about in the real world.
Warning
Avoid any company or agency that promises or guarantees that it can get you working as a Dove model. Dove is fairly particular about the women it uses, and Dove makes the final decision.
