If your aluminum trays seem discolored from wear or you have heat stains, cleaning them is the only solution. Aluminum trays are often used for a party or other social gathering. They get dirty and dingy rather quickly. After the party, you may not feel like washing all the cookware or serving trays and then they sit at least overnight while leftovers become hardened. Cleaning aluminum trays does not have to be an expensive or time-consuming venture.
Things You'll Need
- Soft washcloth
- Stainless Steel and Aluminum Cleaner or equivalent
Soak your aluminum trays in boiling hot water. Let the trays immerse for about 30 minutes.
Sprinkle the Stainless Steel & Aluminum Cleaner on your soft washcloth. You can use an equivalent aluminum cookware cleaning product if you so choose. Be sure that the product that you use is safe for aluminum, will remove heat stains, discoloration as well as food particles. Top cookware designers recommend Stainless Steel & Aluminum Cleaner.
Wipe the cleaner on the hot aluminum trays after you have sprinkled the product on your washcloth. Rub in the cleaner over the front and back of the tray. Let the aluminum tray sit for about five minutes.
Rinse off the aluminum trays with warm water. They should be completely clean, bright and looking brand-new.
Repeat Steps 2 through 4 if you still notice heat stains or discoloration.
