How to Make a Marge Simpson Costume. If you need a fun costume that's easy to make, then consider Marge Simpson. With her trademark blue hair and green dress, she's easily recognizable, and this costume is far more comfortable than those requiring capes and masks. Better yet, you'll find it's easy on your wallet too.
Step 1
Buy enough lime-green material to sew a tube style dress. Insert elastic around the top to hold it on and make it loose enough to move around easily.

Step 2
Roll a piece of poster board into a tube shape and fit it to your head. Once you have the correct size, glue it together. Glue quilt batting all around the cone and let dry. Then spray with blue paint to make Marge Simpson's hair.
Step 3
Scour the thrift stores for a fifties-style red bobble bead necklace. If you don't find one, you can string some wooden beads and spray paint them red.
Step 4
Apply yellow body paint all over your face, neck, shoulders and arms to create that famous Simpson flesh tone.
Step 5
Wear some red shoes with little to no heal because, like all the other Simpsons, Marge only has one pair of shoes, and they're bright red.
Step 6
Copy a picture of Marge's three children, Bart, Lisa and Maggie, using free clipart available on the Internet. Cut it out and glue it to a piece of craft foam and pin it to your dress. Then periodically during the evening, get in character and brag about your "little guy Bart" or your "little angel, Maggie."
Tip
You can make Marge's hair as tall as you want, but the taller it is, the harder it will be to maneuver around, so don't overdo it.
