Folding a fitted sheet may seem like a herculean task, but there is a simple method that ensures straight fold lines with perfectly square corners every time. It may take a few practice attempts, but you'll get the hang of it quickly. And once you do, you'll never have to shove a frumpy fitted sheet into your linen closet again.

Tip: Be sure to fold your fitted sheets as soon as you remove them from the dryer, as it results in crisper fold lines.
Step 1
Turn the sheet inside out and lay it flat on a table so that the long side is in front of you.

Step 2
Slide your left hand into the left corner and your right hand into the right corner.

Step 3
Bring your palms together like you're clapping.

Step 4
Fold the right corner over the left corner.

Step 5
Switch hands so that your right hand is now inside holding the two corners and your left hand is free. Slide your left hand down the side of the sheet and turn the rest of the sheet right side out.

Step 6
Slide your left hand into the adjacent corner, making sure you grab both remaining corners. At this point, you should be holding two corners with your right hand and two corners with your left hand.

Step 7
Bring your palms together like you're clapping again.

Step 8
Fold the right corner over the left corner again.

Step 9
Switch hands again so that your right hand is inside holding the four corners and use your left hand to straighten out the rest of the sheet.

Step 10
Lay the sheet flat on a table and smooth out any wrinkles. Be sure to slightly adjust the shape of the sheet so that it resembles the shape of a rectangle.

Step 11
Fold the sheet in thirds lengthwise.

Step 12
Fold the sheet in thirds again.

Behold! A perfectly folded fitted sheet with clean lines and square corners!
