Place the designs on top of a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake them in a conventional or toaster oven for 2 to 3 minutes until they are laying flat down.

Tip

If you open the oven and a part of the Shrinky Dink is shriveled up or is not laying down flat, that means it is not done. Leave the piece(s) in for 30 seconds to one minute longer!

Step 5: Glue

Allow at least 10 minutes for the Shrinky Dinks to cool down. Once they are cool, use a glue gun to attach them to the top of a lollipop stick or small wooden dowel.

Tip

Paper straws also make a fun cake topper base!

Step 6: Decorate

Place these fun new toppers on top of your cake, along with any other items you want to use. The wedding toppers would be perfect alongside fresh flowers, for example.

Tip

These are also perfect for other desserts such as cupcakes, donuts and pie!

Make sure to keep the toppers for future use. These can easily be cleaned if any baked goods get on them, and can be used many, many times. The thickness makes them look extra nice and special and everyone will ask where you bought them. Just imagine their surprise when you tell them they were made from a favorite childhood craft supply!
