Return white shoes to their former glory with inexpensive shaving cream. The old-fashioned white foam will get your sneakers sparkling clean again. It doesn't matter if your shoes are made of leather or canvas -- shaving cream works on both materials. If you've been considering tossing your shoes in the washing machine or tossing them out with the trash, foam them up and give them a scrub first. When combined with a little elbow grease, shaving cream removes dirt and stains like a charm.

Step 2

Spray a dollop of white shaving cream into a cup. You only need enough to cover both shoes.

Step 3

Dip your fingers into the shaving cream and spread a thick layer over the surface of both shoes, including the tongues. Allow the shoes to sit for half an hour.

Step 4

Scrub the shoes with a dry toothbrush, paying special attention to stained or heavily soiled areas.

Step 5

Dampen a soft cloth, such as a white rag or washcloth, and squeeze out the excess water. Wipe the shoes clean.

Step 6

Wash the laces in the washing machine to make them as white as the shoes. Allow the shoes and laces to dry completely before lacing them again.
