Hi I'm Tim Gipson and I'm going to talk to you about how to hang drywall on a ceiling with just one person. Now normally this is a two person job where two people have to carry the drywall on each end, position it up on the ceiling and then each would put screws or nails. Now whenever you are putting drywall on the ceiling I highly recommend that you use screws as opposed to drywall nails. They will hold longer and less likely to work out and give you nail pops over a long period of time. Now if you just have to do it as one person there is a way to do it and that is by using a lift. Now I have got a picture here of a lift in lieu of actually having one but this should show pretty well how you can do it. The lift here has two arms at the top with some support hooks to hold on to the drywall so with this in the low position it is easy for one person as seen here to lift it up and position it on top. Now once the drywall is positioned it can be positioned parallel with the ceiling and then there is a wheel over here that you turn and then these would lift this panel up to the ceiling and actually lock it in place right where you need it to be. Now as you get close you see that the whole system is on wheels so it is very easy to position and it will hold the drywall in place until you are able to screw it in to place. Now these lifts are available, there is a standard one that goes up to about eleven feet and then there is one that goes to around 15 feet depending on how high you need to go and the lifts are actually fairly economical. You can rent a lift like this for the day from many rental locations or you can even buy it and typically you can get it for less than $200. That might be from a local supply store or perhaps ordering on the internet. It may not necessarily be something that your local home improvement or hardware store carries. So again utilizing a lift is one way that you can install drywall on the ceiling by yourself. So I'm Tim Gipson and that's how one person can install drywall on the ceiling.
