"Hey everybody, Don Golden for Expert Village and let's move on with the shower project. We've just taken off the valve and now I want to show you the real crucks of our problem is right here. This is called your water cartridge and this is right here, is what we need to replace. This controls the rate and the temperature mixture and water flow inside of this valve. You've got the cold on this side and the hot on this side and the way it works is that it seeps up against here and when this twists it lets a certain amount, I'm sorry, it goes this way. Here's the intake so your valve sits this way and when this twists, you have a hot and cold on this and it regulates the amount of each when it is turning. Our problem right now is that these rubber O-rings are probably little bit worn just slightly and that is why you get a little bit of a drip. So when that happens, you've got to replace the whole cartridge. So now some of the manufacturer's make new O-rings and just replace this ring, this ring and these two rings. This manufacturer doesn't so I had to go out and spend $20 for a new one instead of about 18 cents, oh well. "
