Hello everyone, I'm Joshua Clement and this is how to get rid of strong wood stain smells. When you are staining you want to make sure that you are in an open area. Otherwise, the stain is going to soak into the wood and produce a lot of fumes and those fumes can end up causing you some health problems such as watery eyes, itchy eyes, runny nose and sore throat. The best way to get rid of that strong stain smell is to well ventilate it. You can put some fans blowing over top of the stained area to pick up more of that smell and carry it out of the house. You always want to make sure that you have your windows open or you are in an open area with a ventilation system when trying to stain. Otherwise, the stain is going to linger in the area. Now one reason it stays so long is because it is soaking into the wood and as it dries, it's releasing those fumes into the house or into your work area. So it's going to take a little bit of time to get rid of that stain smell but you can help get rid of it a little bit faster if you blow some fans over top of it after it's dried. You don't want to do it while it's still wet because that could leave some dust imprints on your stain. Something else you can do is rather than throwing that paintbrush after you are done with it in the trash, put it in a Ziploc bag so that way all that extra stain smell doesn't build up in your trash can and go throughout your house. Thank you all for watching and good luck with this project.
