Hi, I'm Chris Bos, construction consultant. Today, we're going to talk about how to I fix a leaky skylight. Well the first thing you're going to do before anything else, is give it a good visual inspection. You're going to check your flashing, where the roof meets the curb, and then where the curb meets the cap. That's the key things you want to check first. Then you're also going to walk around and you're going to look to see that there's no broken panes. That's obviously a leak problem. If you find any broken or cracked ones, you're going to want to get those replaced by a professional. This wire glass is very difficult to work with on your own. You'll want a professional to do that work. The other thing you're going to look for is to check that the silicone, that's where water is going to get in. So if you're missing caulk or you need caulk, that's where you're going to put it. To do this work, you're going to want some silicone sealant. Silicone caulk. You do not want to use indoor caulk, it will just evaporate with the water. Once it rains, you're going to have a leaky skylight again and you're going to need a caulk gun. So what we're going to do is we're just going to put a nice little bead. Now those are the major issues you're going to face. So hopefully this will solve your problem. Thanks for watching, I'm Chris Bos.
