Hi, my name is Chris Bos, construction consultant. What we are here to do today is to figure out how to remove a doorknob. Now for this you are going to need two tools, maybe three. But you are going to need a screwdriver. It's good if it has flat on one side and Phillips on the other. You are going to need something small and pointy. I'm going to use an Allen key. You could use a one sixteenth inch drill bit or sometimes the point of a screw will also work. What you are going to do. You are going to look for a tiny hole on the shaft of the doorknob. You are going to stick this thing into the doorknob and wiggle it till it comes out. That's what holds it. Next you have to take this escutcheon off. To do that this one has a little release and it slides right off. Sometimes they'll have screws and if you see two screw holes with screws then you'll know not to look for a little latch just to take those screws off. Next I'm going to use a screw gun to take out these two screws. These two screws hold this side to the other side. I'm going to use a screw gun just because they are long and it's faster then doing it by hand. But you can do it by hand as well. Now once you've got the screws out from this side there's nothing left holding it. So we just go to the other side and with a little wiggle and pull it comes right out. That's how you remove a doorknob. I'm Chris Bos, thanks for watching.
