A witch's costume is classic and fun.

A witch is a traditional Halloween costume that never goes out of style. It's appropriate for girls of all ages, and makeup adds to the spooky effect. Be sure to start with a clean, dry face and, if using face paint, test a small spot beforehand to make sure you aren't allergic to it.

  1. Painting Your Face

    • We traditionally think of green when we think of a witch's face. Using Halloween face paint or cream, cover your entire face green. Use white as an alternative. To make it look like you are old and wrinkly, draw lines on your forehead and around your mouth with black paint or cream eyeliner.

    Makeup

    • False eyelashes can add drama to a witch costume. Also, don't forget the warts. Purchase a few stick-on warts at a costume shop. Make sure they blend in with your makeup by using a sponge to put a little makeup over the warts. Red or black lipstick completes the witch's face.

    Hair

    • Witches don't have beautiful hair. Wear a black, stringy wig or temporary black hair color. Tease your hair with a comb to make it look unkempt and greasy. For extra spookiness, throw in some plastic bugs and finish it off with lots of hair spray so they'll stick. Grab a broom and a pointy hat and you're ready for trick-or-treating.
