How to Attach a Desk Lamp Clamp
A desk lamp clamp adjusts to fit the thickness of a flat surface for holding a lamp in position. Clamps are typically used with adjustable lamps, such as those used for drafting work. If the desk needs to be tilted at an angle toward the user, the clamp holds the lamp in one place on the desk. The clamp attaches to the desk with a threaded bolt and wing nut in less than five minutes. Special tools are not necessary. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Insert the upper half of the clamp, which contains the tube for inserting the lamp post, into the L-shaped metal rod on the lower half of the clamp.
-
2
Turn the upper and lower halves of the clamp so the serrated edges point in the same direction.
-
-
3
Place a small piece of soft cloth on the edge of the desk, typically near the back edge in a corner, but anywhere that is convenient for holding the lamp. Slide the clamp onto the cloth, which will protect the desk surface.
-
4
Tighten the wing nut at the bottom of the clamp until the clamp is tight on the desk.
-
5
Lower the post on the end of the lamp into the tube on the top of the clamp.
