How to Miter Cove Moulding
Cove moulding is moulding that's shaped to fit into corners, such as those along the floor or ceiling. It dresses out the joint between the two spans and allows you to tie those lines into the rest of the room. You cut cove moulding the same manner as you would other types of moulding, mitering at the ends at angles that connect to one another to fit around corners. If you've never mitered trim before, practice before you start. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Measure the base of the first wall, from one inside corner to the end. Mark out the measurement to a piece of cove moulding, with two pencil marks and the measured span between them.
-
2
Lay the trim on the miter saw in the position it will be on the wall. Position it so one of the marks is under the blade. Turn the blade to 45 degrees inward, so it points toward the middle of the span that you measured. Cut the trim.

3
Slide the trim so the opposite end is under the blade. Turn the blade 45 degrees inward (so it's in the opposite direction as before). Make the cut.
-
4
Measure and cut the pieces for the rest of the walls in the same manner, mitering each end.
