Instructions

  1. Construction

    • 1

Place the plywood on a flat surface and sand with medium sand paper to reduce the potential of splinters. Measure 4 feet along one of the long sides and mark with a pencil. Repeat on the opposite long side. Draw a line connecting the two points marked using the edge of the yardstick as a straight edge. Cut the wood along the line to get two 4 feet by 4 feet pieces of plywood.

    • 2

Take one of the 4 feet by 4 feet pieces and measure 2 feet along one edge and mark. Repeat on the opposite edge. Draw a line connecting the points marked using the yardstick as a straight edge. Cut the wood along the line to get two pieces, each 2 feet by 4 feet. Repeat this step 2 with the other 4 feet by 4 feet piece of plywood.

    • 3

Take one of the 2 feet by 4 feet pieces of plywood and measure 2 feet along a long edge and mark. Repeat on the opposite edge. Draw a line connecting the points marked using the yardstick as a straight edge. Cut the wood along the line to get two pieces, each 2 feet by 2 feet.

    • 4

Measure one of the 2 by 4 (even though it's called a 2by4 it's really 1 ½ inches by 4 inches) pieces of wood to a length of 47 inches and cut. Repeat this until there are five pieces each of 47 inches. Measure another piece of 2 by 4 to a length of 22 inches and cut. Repeat this so there are two pieces of 2 by 4 that are 22 inches long.

    • 5

Place a 2 feet by 4 feet piece of plywood flat on the ground. Measure from the 2 feet end along the top edge of the 4 feet side in 1 inch and mark on the top edge then measure in from the opposite 2 feet end along the top edge of the 4 feet side in 1/2 inch and mark. Repeat this for the bottom edge of the 2 feet by 4 feet piece of plywood.

    • 6

Place the 47 inches pieces of 2 by 4s parallel to each other so the outside edges are 2 feet apart.

Lay the 2feet by 4feet marked sheet of plywood on top of the 47 inch pieces lining up the 2 by 4 pieces with the marks on the plywood edges. The 2 by 4 line up with the long edges of the plywood on each side.

    • 7

Drill 4 holes along each side of the plywood down into the 2 by 4s and insert screws (3 inch wood screws).

    • 8

Place a 2 feet by 2 feet piece of plywood flat on the ground. Select a side and measure in 1 1/2 inches along the edge and mark the top of the edge. Repeat this on the other end of this same edge. Repeat this for the opposite (bottom edge).

    • 9

Place the 22 inch pieces of 2by 4s parallel to each other so the outside edges are 2 feet apart. Lay one of the 2 feet by 2 feet marked sheets of plywood on top of the 22 inch pieces lining up the 2 by 4s pieces with the marks on the plywood edges. Repeat for the other two 2 by 4s and the 2 feet by 2 feet sheet of plywood.

    • 10

Drill 2 holes along each side of the plywood down into the 2 by 4s and insert screws (3 inch wood screws).

    • 11

Prop up the 2 feet by 4 feet length of plywood, with the 2 by 4s attached, parallel to the ground. Set a 2 feet by 2 feet plywood with 2 by 4s next to it with the 2 by 4s parallel to the ground. The edge of the 2 feet by 2 feet plywood should be against the flat side of the 2 feet by 4 feet plywood and flat against the ends on the 2 by 4s on the 2 feet by 4 feet plywood. Drill holes through the 2 feet by 2 feet plywood into the ends of the 2 by 4s on the 2 feet by 4 feet piece of plywood and insert screws (3 inch wood screws). Repeat for the other piece of 2 feet by 2 feet piece of plywood on the other end of the 2 feet by 4 feet piece of plywood.

    • 12

Measure and mark the middle of the tops of the 2 feet sides. Place a 47 inch piece of 2 by 4, centered at these marks, underneath the attached 2 by 4, so it reaches from one 2 feet by 2 feet sheet of plywood to the opposite sheet of plywood. Drill holes from the outside of the plywood into the ends of the 47 inch piece, both ends, and insert screws (3 inch wood screws).

    • 13

Directly beneath the board just install place another 47 inch piece of 2 by 4 on top of the bottom 2 by 4s that are on the 2feet by 2feet sheets of plywood. Drill holes from the outside of the plywood into the ends of the 47 inch piece, both ends, and insert screws (3 inch wood screws).

    • 14

Place another 47 inch piece of 2 by 4 on top of the bottom 2 by 4s that are on the 2feet by 2feet sheets of plywood at the end opposite of the 2feet by 4feet plywood sheet. Drill holes from the outside of the plywood into the ends of the 47 inch piece, both ends, and insert screws (3 inch wood screws).

    • 15

Place a 47 inch piece of 2 by 4 so that the narrow side is parallel to the gourd at the top open edge. Drill holes from the outside of the plywood into the ends of the 47 inch piece, both ends, and insert screws (3 inch wood screws).

    • 16

Place the remaining 2 feet by 4 feet sheet of plywood on top of the assembled base. Line up the edges. Drill three holes along the outside edges down into the 2 by 4s on each side and insert screws (3 inch wood screws).

    • 17

Measure in from the long edge, on the 2 feet side of the last piece of plywood, over 1 foot and mark. Do the same at the other 2 feet end. Use the yardstick as a straight edge and mark. Cut down the middle the long length of the plywood.

    • 18

Take one of the 1 foot by 4 feet lengths of plywood and measure along the 1 foot edge in from the long side 6 inches and mark. Do the same at the other end. Use the yardstick as a straight edge and mark. Cut down the middle the long length of the plywood.

    • 19

      Step 19

Form a sign for the front of the lemonade stand. Place a 6 inch by 4 feet plywood piece on the edge of the front 2 feet by 4 feet piece of plywood facing outward. Drill holes from the front into the 2 by 4s top and bottom and insert 3 inch screws. Repeat with the other 6 inch by 4 feet plywood piece at the opposite end from the first 6 inch by 4 feet plywood piece. Place the 1 foot by 4 feet length of plywood at the top of the two 6 inch by 4 feet plywood pieces. Drill two holes to join the 1 foot by 4 feet plywood piece to 6 inch by 4 feet piece at the top and insert screws (7/8 inch wood screws). Repeat for the other end.
