Instructions

    • 1

Measure the size of the cabinets to be refaced with a measuring tape.

    • 2

Use a screwdriver to take down all of the doors that you are refacing.

    • 3

Cut the sheets of beadboard with a table saw according to the measurements of your cabinets. Hold the cut pieces against the cabinets to make sure they are correctly sized and trim down if they are not.

    • 4

Sand the edges of each of the pieces of beadboard. Use sandpaper to get all of the edge smooth and to rough up the surface a little.

    • 5

Treat the beadboard with whatever finish you want to use. Make sure you get the paint or stain on the edges of each piece.

    • 6

Attach the beadboard to the fronts of the cabinet doors using finishing nails and a hammer. Fill the indentations of the nail heads with wood putty.

    • 7

Apply a fine bead of caulk around the edge of the cabinet where the door and the beadboard meet. This will seal them together.

    • 8

Apply one more coat of your chosen finish to cover up the putty and caulk. Let the finish dry for several hours.

    • 9

Reattach the doors to the cabinets. Make sure you put the correct doors on each cabinet.
