How to Decorate a High Fireplace Mantel
Adding decorative accents to your home improves the look and feel of the place, generating positive energy for you, your family and your guests. Part of decorating your home includes adding decor to a mantel, as it is the focal point of your living room or bedroom fireplace. Decorating a high fireplace mantel allows you to create a stunning display to showcase the romance and comfort a fireplace brings to your home environment. From vining plants and candelabras to DIY artwork, your decorated high-set fireplace mantel can become the most attractive point in your home.
Instructions

1
Hang a large painting above the mantel. Select a large piece of artwork that corresponds with the general decor theme of your home, or the room in which your fireplace is. Make the piece of art measure as wide as the width of the fireplace mantel.
-
2
Hang the painting on the wall directly above the fireplace mantel.
-
-
3
Decorate the mantel with a large metal chalice. Place a wide-mouthed metal chalice on the exact center of the fireplace mantel.
-
4
Buy assorted wax fruit for the chalice. Fill the chalice with an assortment of wax artificial fruit such as purple grapes, an apple and a banana.
-
5
Silk ivy leaves add greenery to a mantel. Insert the end of a silk ivy vine into each side of the metal chalice. Anchor the ends into the cup by wedging them in between the inner wall of the cup and the wax fruits.
-
6
Arrange each vine to lie along the edge of the fireplace mantel from each side of the chalice. Allow the silk vines to simply rest on the surface of the mantel.
