Instructions

    • 1

Find a variety of pattern paper with the same color scheme. It can be stock paper, bond paper, tissue paper or anything along those lines.

    • 2

On a separate piece of stock paper, create a template of an image that you will be using on your pattern paper. Choose something simple because you will be tracing and cutting each one. An example you may want to try is creating a butterfly template (pictured). It will really make your drinks flutter!

    • 3

Using your template, trace your pattern onto your paper and cut out the shape.

*Hint: Fold the paper in half so you only have to trace and cut half of your pattern. Make sure you position your template so that you cut where the fold is to make a symmetrical pattern on both sides.

    • 4

Cut two horizontal 1 cm-slits in the center of your cutout and slip the straw through. Don't limit yourself to simple shapes and patterns; try making straw tags by printing out fun statements onto your pattern paper!
