Are you looking for a way to spice up your drinks on the outside? Fun straw décor can add a lot of color and whimsy to any party theme. It is a fabulous way to make your drinks instantly stand out with minimal effort! This is also a great idea for a wedding reception or anniversary party. You can put the couple's names on the straws or incorporate an element of the party, such as these butterflies! Here is an easy way to liven up your party.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Find a variety of pattern paper with the same color scheme. It can be stock paper, bond paper, tissue paper or anything along those lines.

  2. Step 2

On a separate piece of stock paper, create a template of an image that you will be using on your pattern paper. Choose something simple because you will be tracing and cutting each one. An example you may want to try is creating a butterfly template (pictured). It will really make your drinks flutter!

  3. Step 3

Using your template, trace your pattern onto your paper and cut out the shape.

*Hint: Fold the paper in half so you only have to trace and cut half of your pattern. Make sure you position your template so that you cut where the fold is to make a symmetrical pattern on both sides.

  4. Step 4

Cut two horizontal 1 cm-slits in the center of your cutout and slip the straw through. Don’t limit yourself to simple shapes and patterns; try making straw tags by printing out fun statements onto your pattern paper!
