1
First, it is important to determine the appropriate thickness of plywood you need for the doors. As a general rule, if you plan on carving designs into each door, use 3/4-inch plywood. Use 1/2-inch plywood for smooth-surface doors.
-
2
Start by measuring the length and width of the opening each door will cover. Add 1 inch to both measurements, because the doors need to extend 1/2 inch on all sides past the opening they cover.

-
3
Transfer the measurements onto the plywood and cut out the rectangular or square piece for each door.
-
4
Carve designs into the doors if you choose.
-
5
Sand all rough edges off the doors. Apply wood stain or paint of your choice and allow to dry.
-
6
Attach two hinges on the side of each door that will be mounted to the cabinet using 3/8-inch screws. Screw them to the door according to the directions included with them.
-
7
Attach a handle or knob to each door. If a door will be high up, it is a good idea to place it at the bottom of the door.
-
8
Hang each door by attaching the hinges to the cabinet in the appropriate position.
