Assembling Your Cabinet
-
5
Stand the two pieces that are 3 feet 4 inches long by 2 feet wide up on the floor with the 2-foot sides down parallel to each other. Put them 2 feet apart. Place the two pieces from Step 2 in between them to form a square frame. Fasten the frame together by driving five 1-inch screws through both ends of the wider pieces into the shorter ones. The frame for your cabinet is complete.

6
To attach the bottom, screw a 2-by-2 foot piece on top of the frame by driving a 1-inch screw through it every 6 inches around the edges into the frame. Turn the completed portion over on the bottom.
-
7
Attach the two hinges on one side of the remaining square piece with 3/8-inch screws. Make sure the hinge portion hangs just over the edge of the piece.
-
8
Attach the other half of the hinges on top of one side of the cabinet with 1-inch screws for your lid. Your new trash can cabinet is now ready.
