How to Finger Weave a Scarf
Making a finger weave scarf is an excellent choice for introducing youngsters to crafts. It works up fast and is an easy project to take on a trip. A child can sit in the back of the car and work on the project without the danger of him getting hurt with a needle. It is also a great way to use up yarn left over from other projects.

Try the two handed method. You will need someone to help you with this. Have your assistant weave the yarn through four of his fingers; using both hands. Weave the same way you would with one hand.

Finish off the strip. Cut the yarn leaving a long trail. Pull it through the loops on each finger. Slip them off and tie at each end. One strip is now done, however you do not have enough material for a scarf.

5
Make more strips. The thicker the yarn, the fewer strips you need to make. Lay the strips out side-by-side and figure the finished scarf will be a about 1/4 of the total width.

Join the strips. This can be done in many ways. The easiest and quickest is to simply take the yarn and weave it back and forth through the sides of the two strips. However, if you want to be a bit creative, you can crochet the strips together. Use the side of one strip as if it was the base chain and do a double crochet along the entire length. Turn and do another row. Repeat until the scarf is the size you want. Join to the next strip with slip stitches. When all the strips have been joined, join the last two sides to from a circle.

Make a tassel for each end. Cut a 12-inch square of cardboard. Wrap the yarn around 24 to 30 times and cut off. Slip the yarn under one side and tie it tightly around the yarn. Cut the strands on the other side of the cardboard. Then wrap the yarn around the top of the tassel about 10 times and tie off. Use the tails to attach one tassel to each end of the scarf.
Tips & Warnings
If you need to take a break, slip the loops off your fingers and onto a knitting needle or even a pencil.
