Instructions

    • 1

Find a space that provides a wall on three sides. Measure the area, locate the studs and mark them at the height where you want to place your frame.

    • 2

Install a 2-by-4 inch board, cut to size, at both ends and the enclosed side. Make sure the side piece remains long enough to go from wall to wall. The head and foot piece should go up to the side piece.

    • 3

Place the 4 inch side up against the wall, meeting the mark to keep even. Check with a level.

    • 4

Use wood screws to attach the 2-by-4 inch board to the wall at the stud site. When you have attached all three sides to the wall, you have a strong foundation.

    • 5

Cut a 2-by-4 inch board for the fourth side and use the screws to attach it to the ends of the bed.

    • 6

Attach the correct size bed frame inside the wood. Be sure it is level and lined up correctly, because there is little chance for change once you get the bed built.
